The Last Week at CDIS

The last week of school has been going really well. Somehow things aren’t quite as stressful as they have been in the past. I can tell it’s because of prayers and the help of the new registrar that I’ve been training. We have exams Monday through Wednesday and then Thursday and Friday are half days. I spent the weekend off-hours going through elementary report cards to save some school day time. Running reports cards takes quite a bit of back and forth work. First waiting for teachers to get their grades in. Then running the reports to see how they actually turned out. As we’ve been working through a new admin program called Powerschool & Powerteacher, it’s taken us several years to modify the report cards and transcripts. I think this year we have them set so that fonts and other settings are good to go. The trick is looking for why grades don’t come through or fixing comments that have grammatical errors. I’ll miss working with these online admin programs. I would highly recommend them to any school system. I have learned a lot from our school’s change from one to the other – it’s been incredibly BUSY at times. Graduation is on Wednesday and that’s my deadline for all things that involve seniors. Once this last week of school is complete I will feel so relieved about work and closure at the school. I sure will miss my wonderful students! I too will miss the school community and the parents that work so hard in this area of the world to reach different people groups. This school is in such a unique location, and I have loved all the school work (at times very busy school work) that then makes it possible for families to live overseas. I wish I could tell stories on here about what all is going on over there. For security reasons I must refrain though. He is doing amazing things through people here!
