Last night we had our annual staff banquet at this fancy hotel in the southern part of the city. I had a traditional Chinese top and skirt made for the occasion. Above is a picture with two dear friends, Katie and Amanda. (I’ve known these two for 6 years – we’ve been through a lot of events together.) While at the banquet there was a time of sharing, and they asked those of us leaving to come up (one at a time). Katie and Mrs. Cha took time to share during my time. If you know me I am a behind-the-scenes type person. As much as I didn’t want to go up because I knew I’d start crying, it was another healthy thing to do to help close the chapter for this time in my life. I honestly can’t remember what they said, but it was so INCREDIBLY encouraging that of course I cried. When you love a place and the people you work with and the students you teach, how can you not cry to show others how much they mean to you. So let the tears fall…and let them fall I did.
